About Dr. Martha
Martha Batorski, EdD has been actively engaged in the field of change – both personal and business transformation – for over 30 years. First, as a management consultant affiliated with DMR Group (Montreal), Accenture LLP (Los Angeles), and Grant Thornton LLP (Washington DC), and second, as a CEO working with over 50 new venture launches – entrepreneurs across the USA building start-up companies in the financial services industry. It was this concept of making business consulting for large companies available to small businesses that earned her company the Emerging Business of the Year Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners in the first year of business. She has led 15+ successful business transformation consulting projects with global Fortune 100 companies in the USA and EU in financial services, high-tech, transportation, aerospace, energy, government, retail, and the US Navy.
A middle child in a family of nine (seven girls and two parents), Martha naturally gravitated to a career that included problem-solving, facilitation, and conflict resolution. In her formative years, she was fortunate to have been introduced to the Transcendental Meditation technique, which has served as a lifelong counterbalance to the stress of balancing consulting and academics, travel, coaching, and responding to life’s curveballs. In 2003, she founded Batorski Stevens & Associates, a management consultancy specializing in business transformation, along with her husband, colleague, and business partner, Derek Stevens.
Dr. Martha Batorski is a graduate of the Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA (BS, MS). She completed her Doctorate in Education (EdD) in Organizational Change (Pepperdine University, 2011). All these programs were completed while working full-time (except for the doctoral research and dissertation, an all-consuming event).
She is a recognized thought leader in the field of business transformation, with articles published on the impact of disruptive change on emerging organization structures (Accenture), the applied use of social media in organizations to enhance leadership and governance (Grant Thornton), and transformational change (business journals). Her doctoral research developing situation awareness capacity to improve executive judgment and decision making under stress contributed to a multi-year change initiative at Norwich University, the oldest military university in the USA, based in Northfield, VT, where hundreds of military cadets were introduced to the Transcendental Meditation technique to develop resilience, improve scholastics, and increase overall performance. The findings of this study have been excerpted and included in The Soul of Success Vol.3 book with Jack Canfield (creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul ® series).
She is a featured speaker in healthcare, business, and education, as well as the Las Vegas Convention Speakers Bureau on the topic of leadership and change. She is a past Adjunct Professor in the MBA program at Roseman University of Health Sciences in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a member of the Transformational Leadership Council.
