Top Carolinas Orthodontic Professional Kerry White Brown Publishes a New Article Sharing Bad Habits that Can Make Life Crazier for Busy Moms
Dr. Kerry White Brown, an esteemed Orthodontist with nearly 20 years’ experience, reveals some bad habits that can make a mom’s life even more hectic.
Columbia, South Carolina — February 15, 2017 — Carolina Orthodontist Kerry Brown White recently published a new article, “Bad Habits that Make Life for Busy Moms Even Crazier.”
Dr. White Brown starts off the article by explaining that while all moms – and all people – start off the new year with great goals about being more organized, more productive, and accomplishing more, it seldom happens that way. As she says, “Yet, here we are – just weeks in – and well, it seems like it’s business as usual. Every day seems just as hectic as it did last year—if not more!”
So, what is a mom to do? Just give up? Of course not, she counters. The key may be eliminating just a few bad habits. Examples of these bad habits include checking email and voicemail all the time and thinking working more equals getting more done.
Dr. White brown elaborates on her contention that answering email and voice mail immediately constitute bad habits. After all, most everyone equates this practice with efficiency. Yet, that’s not always true. She explains, “Checking email and voicemail constantly can be a huge productivity killer. It interrupts you from whatever you are doing and distracts you from the tasks at hand. Instead, try setting specific times to check them and respond. This allows you to be proactive instead of reactive. Additionally, it lets you have longer spans in which to work so that you get more done.”
Likewise, many think that if you work more you will get more done which is also not always the case. As she says, this often backfires and instead, we get burnt out instead of being more productive and accomplishing more. She then gives specific strategies to move away from these erroneous thoughts and unproductive practices without too much strife. One specific tactic being the use of time blocking, or the “Pomodoro Technique.”
In the remainder of the piece she shares three more bad habits that should be broken right away if the goal is to accomplish more and be less hectic in 2017. She also gives additional tips, tricks, and strategies for addressing those bad habits as well.
