The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm Owner, Shannon Pawley, Writes About The Importance Of Having An Estate Plan Reviewed When Moving To A New State
Shannon Pawley, The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm Owner, reminds readers to have their estate plans reviewed when moving to a new state and explains why this is of utmost importance.
DECATUR, GA, October 19, 2024: Shannon Pawley, Owner of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, has posted a new blog on the law firm’s website entitled “Why You Need Your Estate Plan Reviewed When Moving To A New State,” in which Ms. Pawley informs readers this is too often overlooked.
Pawley poses a few questions. She asks, “Do your retirement dreams include moving to a new state? Has a new job required you to move to a different state?” According to Pawley, “Those are just two common reasons that people pick up and move from one state to another. She continues, “without question, the COVID-19 Pandemic was the cause for many people to move. People fled from north to south and west to east seeking less crowded environments and more opportunities to be outside. As remote work became more the rule than the exception many people decided that instead of just staying home, they would relocate to another state.” Pawley emphasizes, “In the last few years there has been a lot of movement.”
“What many people forget about during a move,” Pawley states, “is how their estate plan may be affected. Most people do not know that not all states are the same when it comes to estate planning documents.”
