Tosoni writes, “As a sophomore in high school, I made varsity at the Massachusetts hockey power Cathedral High School. I was one of two sophomores to make this elite squad. Unfortunately, for the first time in my sports career, I rode the pine. In other words, I sat on the bench. “

According to Tosoni, “As the year went on, I became more and more angry. The coach offered me no explanation and not a shred of encouragement. I simply felt left out and humiliated.” He continued adding, “As it turns out, with one week to go in the season and the team going to a championship, I simply couldn’t take it any longer. I left and I never returned to the team.”

Tosoni says that he went to a rival school and again ended up on the varsity team. The big difference he says is that, “on this team, I played, and I played regularly.” The story continues, “As fate would have it,” writes Tosoni, “our team wound up in the Western Mass championship against my former team. Need I tell you, losing simply wasn’t an option?”
