Buffalo, NY – February 1, 2019 – Principal, Dr. James Newton, recently signed a publishing deal to co-write the forthcoming book titled The Recipe For Success, published by CelebrityPress^® LLC. In addition to Dr. Newton’s expertise, the publication features content from world-renowned entrepreneur, professional speaker, and Best-Selling Author^® Jack Canfield. The Recipe For Success is tentatively scheduled for release in early Spring 2019.

About Dr. James Newton

Dr. James Preston Newton recently retired after 31 years in public education.  He was a technology teacher for 10 years and a public school administrator for 21 years.  He served in the roles of middle school assistant principal, middle school principal, high school principal and superintendent in New York State.  In 2009, he was named New York State Middle School Principal of the year and was a finalist for the National Middle School Principal of the Year.

As an educator, his focus has always been on improving school climate and increasing student achievement.  His doctoral dissertation focused on reducing low-level violent behaviors in the middle school.  He developed a program called Newton’s No-Nonsense Non-Verbal Intervention Program to help NIP low-level violent behaviors in the bud.  He is a certified Olweus Bullying Prevention Trainer and was recently trained as a certified coach, trainer, and speaker.

After retiring, Dr. Newton served as an interim High School principal and he is an Adjunct Professor at Niagara University and St. Bonaventure University.  Presently, Dr. Newton has officially come out of retirement to serve as High School Principal at Bishop Timon – St. Jude in Buffalo, New York.
