Lance Drury acknowledges, “Mistakes happen. So, whether you prepare your own taxes or have them prepared for you, you need to be diligent in going over your return carefully before sending them in.”

Drury lists the seven most common mistakes, which includes forgetting to sign the return at the very top of the list. He advises taxpayers to, “Slow down and keep repeating your mantra. Review your returns slowly. Then you just have to trust that you’ve done your best and that’s all any of us can ever do!”
