Tax Resolution Expert, Attorney Lance Drury Reviews Taxpayer Bill of Rights Enhancement Act of 2015.

Tax resolution attorney Lance Drury, founder of the Law Firm of Lance R. Drury, and best selling author of “Successonomics”, presents an overview of proposed legislation that, if passed, would be beneficial to taxpayers who owe the IRS money, in addition to providing all taxpayers protection from abusive IRS actions.

lance drurySt Genevieve, MO, June 29, 2015:Tax resolution attorney Lance Drury, founder of the Law Firm of Lance R. Drury, and best selling author of “Successonomics” posted a new article on the LANCE DRURY LAW website entitled “A Bill To “Update and Strengthen Taxpayer Protection.” With the IRS wielding enormous power it’s no surprise that their behavior has deteriorated over the years. According to Mr. Drury’s new article, it looks like change could be coming.

Drury writes, “Hopefully this proposed new legislation will be passed before next tax season. It could be good news for all taxpayers especially those who owe the IRS back taxes.” He states, “The bill will make it easier for taxpayers to enter into an installment agreement or have an offers-in-compromise agreed to without requiring chief counsel review for offers in compromise of over $50,000.”

Drury tells his readers about the objective of the bill proposed by Senators Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and John Thune, R-S.D. According to Drury the two Senators are hopeful that  the legislation would “improve customer service at the Internal Revenue Service, create new taxpayer protections, and update and strengthen existing taxpayer protections.”

“Without question,” says Drury, “it is much needed.” He elaborates, “In light of the multitude of tax fraud scams perpetrated on Americans for the past few years, many of which led to the criminals being protected by the IRS instead of the taxpayer, it will be interesting to see how this plays out if passed.”

Drury is on point as he states, “Few government agencies would win popularity contests with American taxpayers, however the IRS would most likely top the list as the least favorite.”  Unpopularity is no excuse for bad behavior as Senator Grassley affirms and Drury quotes him from an article in Accounting today as saying, “the IRS, “shouldn’t repel and mistreat the people it exists to serve.” Drury adds, “No one would argue with his next statement, “Taxpayers are at a disadvantage with an agency that has tremendous power over their money. The IRS might talk about good customer service.  Too often, talk is all there is. The IRS needs to walk the walk. Congress needs to act. This bill will help swing the pendulum away from agency self-preservation and back to taxpayer service.”
