Tax Resolution Attorney John P. Willis Writes About Millionaires Who Have Gotten The Attention Of The IRS And Are Making Headlines.

Tax resolution attorney John Willis, CEO, and founder of IRSALLSTAR, takes a lighthearted approach toward the millionaires making IRS news.

Fairhope, AL, July ** 2023: Tax Attorney John Willis, CEO, and founder of IRSALLSTAR.com, recently published an article on his website entitled “1 Dead, 1 Determined, And Many Delinquent Millionaires Are Making Tax News.” Mr. Willis highlights three tax news stories.

Mr. Willis states, “It’s a busy summer for the IRS and millionaires.” He continues, explaining, “The IRS is focusing their attention on an apparently lengthy list of ‘delinquent millionaires,’ those who owe taxes but haven’t paid them. Meanwhile, the mega-superstar, feisty Beyoncé is fighting the IRS over her $2.8 million tax bill, which she could easily pay, but apparently is trying to make a point. And finally, the Aretha Franklin estate has been decided and her nearly $8 million tax bill has been paid.”

“First,” writes Willis, “the delinquents.” Willis shares, “This story has fueled my imagination. Growing up, the term ‘delinquent’ was used to define mostly young boys who skipped school, smoked cigarettes, drank alcohol and committed minor crimes. These were the kids that were perceived as being bound for a life of crime and trouble. I can’t help but see all these ‘delinquent millionaires’ huddled together with cigarettes limply hanging from their lips, and defiant and arrogant smirks on their faces.” He goes on to add, “I don’t know if I would have called them delinquent. A term I find more appropriate is ‘deadbeat.’”

As Willis notes, “Another millionaire making news is Aretha Franklin whose heirs have been fighting to gain control of her estate since she died five years ago. Franklin died without a proper will but shortly after her death two separate wills were found. One was typewritten but not signed. The other was handwritten found in a notebook under a couch cushion.” Willis continues, “Franklin’s estate owed nearly $8 million to the IRS. And, finally earlier this month, a jury found that the handwritten will was valid.”

“Finally,” says Willis, “we come to the superstar Beyoncé and her fight over her tax bill with the IRS. Her tax bill is minor in comparison with what Queen B rakes in annually. It’s a paltry $2.7 million which she could easily pay. But apparently Beyoncé wants to make a point.”
