Fairhope, AL, August 09, 2021: Tax Attorney John Willis, CEO and founder of IRSALLSTAR.com, recently published a blog on his website entitled “The Scammers Will Try To Get Your Child Tax Credit,” in which Mr. Willis provides the link to the IRS site to report scammers.

Willis asks, “Remember the old commercial for Citi Bank: The Citi never sleeps? Well,” he continues, “you could apply that jingle to scammers. The scammers never sleep. And they are on the pulse of every single opportunity to scam the unsuspecting out of every penny they can get! So it comes as no surprise that the criminally minded are trying to bilk parents out of their Child Tax Credit.”

According to Willis, “The IRS issued an alert shortly after releasing the first batch of Child Tax Credits last week. Reports of phone calls, text messages and emails started coming in that were offering to help expedite the payments.”

Willis reminds his readers that, “the IRS does not contact taxpayers in any way except snail mail. And, more importantly, when it comes to the Child Tax Credit, there is no contact required.  The IRS is using information from taxpayer’s 2020 or 2019 tax return to automatically enroll them for advance payments. So, there’s no need to “expedite” or “sign up for” the Child Tax Credit.”
