Tax Advisor Barry G. Fowler, EA, Looks Into Details of IRS-Facebook Face-off
Barry G. Fowler, EA, leading expert in tax resolution issues and CEO of Taxation Solutions turns his attention to the news that Facebook, the social media giant has ignored all seven of the IRS’s requests for tax records.
Houston, TX – August 30, 2016 – Barry G. Fowler, CEO of Taxation Solutions, posted a new blog on the company website entitled “And Now, The Great IRS-Facebook Face-off!” Whether or not Mr. Fowler is a betting man is unknown, however he does state, “I’m not sure, if I were asked to, which one I’d put my money on in this battle.” He continues adding, “Facebook might be smarter. However, the IRS has been indomitable for decades.”
Fowler writes, “According to the IRS, Facebook owes them billions – roughly $3 to $5 billion!” “And the real slap in the face,” says Fowler, “is that apparently Facebook has failed to respond to the IRS not just once, but a total of seven times. That’s pretty ballsy!” Fowler continues adding, “I can’t imagine an ordinary citizen ignoring the IRS so many times without suffering dire consequences. But, then again, it’s always the little guy who gets bullied the most.”
According to Fowler, “Without a doubt this is going to be an interesting case to watch. And since just about everyone around the world knows Facebook and probably has a Facebook account, the whole world will be watching. I’m not sure if Facebook will walk away without having to pay any part of that multi-billion dollar tax bill, but you never know when two Goliaths face off!”
