How does a girl with shy tendencies grow up to be in the field of Social Media?  
Barbara Pender is the second oldest from a family of five siblings.  Her mother was a drama/English teacher and father, a Barber and strict disciplinarian.  She grew up during the early integration of schools and attended a school where she was in the minority.  She always considered herself less popular than her siblings.  Therefore she had to work to overcome that anonymity.  She was transformed by words of wisdom from her parents and grandparents;  “if you want something, go and get it – nobody is gonna bring it-to you.”  “You are so brilliant, you can do anything!”
