About Jeff

Jeff Joll has worked in a wide range of industries with organizations both in the United States and internationally throughout his career.  The common thread has been helping these organizations improve their use of technology, which has been Jeff’s lifelong passion.  Jeff started working in the “computer” field as a fulltime professional before he graduated from high school and has never looked back.

Jeff has been helping Pittsburgh area businesses leverage technology for over 25 years.  He has worked with businesses both large and small, but his passion is assisting small organizations to succeed.  Jeff began his career developing software, and when he started his own company, he decided to focus on developing software for small businesses.  However, he soon found his software clients looked to him to be the one-stop-shop for all things technology related. Jeff’s broad experience in the tech field allowed him and his staff to bring a consultative approach to helping clients maximize their technology investment in order to achieve their goals.

Jeff’s approach to technology is somewhat unique for a person who has spent his whole career as a technologist.  He is not “enamored” with technology for technology’s sake.  Rather, he seeks to provide his clients with common-sense, cost-effective solutions – the same kind of solutions he would deploy in his own small business.

In 2010, Jeff purchased a Computer Troubleshooters franchise to improve his ability to deliver technology services to Pittsburgh area businesses.  As a locally-owned small business, he found there were benefits to being part of a global organization, including having access to highly skilled technical resources without the need to have them on his payroll.  Since then, Jeff and his local team have helped keep small organizations safe and secure through their “Trouble-Free” managed service and security plans.

Jeff likes to say, “We are the IT Department for small business.” Most of his clients don’t have their own IT staff and depend entirely on Computer Troubleshooters-Pittsburgh for the planning, implementation, and support of their technology infrastructure.

As cybercrime has continued to increase, Jeff has increased the focus on keeping his clients safe from criminals who could ruin a business or non-profit overnight. By making sure data is backed up, networks are secured, and client staff members are trained to be “security aware”, his clients continually improve their defenses.  At the same time, Jeff and his staff are continually evaluating how to better protect their clients against a constantly changing threat landscape.

Jeff and his wife, Eileen, are lifelong residents of the Pittsburgh area.  They have four adult children, enjoying traveling and being outdoors.  Jeff has a BS degree from Robert Morris University with a major in Accounting and passed the CPA exam in a single sitting once upon a time.
