Seattle Personal Injury Lawyer, Jason Epstein, Urges Teens to Pledge Not to Text and Drive

Jason Epstein, Seattle Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Lawyer and Founder of Straight Talk Law, recently spoke at the City of Belleview’s Youth Leadership Conference where over 150 teens pledged to not text and drive.

Seattle, Wash. – March 22, 2010 – Seattle personal injury and auto accident lawyer, Jason Epstein, has recently launched the new initiative, Teens Against Distracted Driving (T.A.D.D.) T.A.D.D. is a movement promoted by car accident lawyers from around the country who are sick and tired of seeing our kids being killed by texting and driving, or by others texting and driving.

Jason Epstein, the founder of T.A.D.D. and Straight Talk Law, recently spoke to hundreds of middle school and high school students at several events about the dangers of distracted driving.  On February 27th, Jason spoke at the Change Summit at Mercer Island Community Center to 120 youth leaders.  On Friday, March 5, Jason spoke at the City of Bellevue’s Youth Involvement Conference at South Bellevue Community Center.

As a result of these events, so far hundreds of teens, their siblings and even some of their parents have signed the TADD pledge to quit texting while driving. TADD also was asked to sponsor an upcoming fundraiser, “Washington’s Strongest School Competition.” The competition will challenge the fitness of high school students who will compete to raise awareness around the importance of physical education and activity for healthier communities. The will benefit the Austin Foundation and will take place May 22nd 11a-4p at Memorial Stadium.

By creating T.A.D.D. and corresponding website, http://www.TeensAgainstDistractedDriving.com, Jason is urging teens across the country to be aware of the incredible dangers posed by texting and driving, one of the nation’s fastest growing causes of auto accidents.  Through the T.A.D.D website, teens can make the following pledge:

“From here on out, I pledge to completely stop texting and using my cell phone while I am driving. I understand the dangers associated with these actions and will spread the word to my family and friends to help us put an end to the dangerous habit.”

Each person who signs the pledge will receive a free T.A.D.D. awareness bracelet that they can wear to show their support for the cause.
