Robert Grace: The Right Architect For Your Retirement Plans

Fort Myers, FL – May 25, 2012 – Robert Grace likens himself to an architect.  But instead of building houses, he’s helping clients build a retirement that lasts for the rest of their lives.

His firm’s motto is “Retirement by Design.”

“We spend a lot of time figuring out what’s important to our clients,” he said.  “We’ll work through it as many times as it takes, and make modifications as necessary.”

Grace has been in the business for more than 43 years.  While most would be satisfied with professional success, Grace had other plans that included law school.  He spent 22 years taking night classes to earn his undergrad and law degrees.  Besides being an attorney, he’s also a Chartered Life Underwriter, a Chartered Financial Consultant, a Registered Financial Consultant and a Certified Financial Educator.

In 2001 he decided to open his own firm, Grace Tax Advisory Group, in Fort Myers FL, where he specializes in retirement income planning.

His firm now has 24 employees and 7 offices, and close to $200 million of retirees’ money under management.

Grace’s book, “How to Make Sure Your Money Lasts as Long as You Do: A 5 Percent Cash Flow in a 1 Percent Economy,” goes into detail about safe-money principles to assure guaranteed lifetime income.

“We are actually able to, in some cases, give our clients 6 percent cash flows that are contractually guaranteed by multi-billion dollar insurance companies to last as long as they do.  We use primarily insurance company instruments—fixed annuities, not variable.  If you put in $100,000, we are able to give you income of $500 a month, which comes out to $6,000 a year,” he said.

For the past four years, Grace has also hosted an hour-long talk radio show, “Retire with Grace”, that currently airs on Saturdays and Sundays on 7 stations in Florida.

Grace said his goal is to get his clients away from watching the stock tickers on television and worrying about every dip.

“Helping people to Retire with Grace is a very real objective for us.  We work to assure our clients make the right transition, at the right time, moving away from the accumulation and risk phases of their lives to preservation and distribution of their retirement income.”
