Retirement Resources President, Dave Boike, Shares Tips From The IRS To Prevent Scammers From Accessing Personal Information And Financial Resources.

Retirement Resources President and Investment Advisor, Dave Boike, acknowledges the joy that so many get from giving to charities and cautions readers to be a little extra attentive to the wily ways of scammers in order to avoid becoming their victims.

Auburn Hills, MI — December 09, 2021— Dave Boike, President of Retirement Resources and co-author of The Ultimate Success Guide with Brian Tracy published a new blog post on the company website entitledBe As Generous As You Can And Be A Little Extra Cautious, in which Mr. Boike provides a few safety tips to keep in mind during the holiday season.

Boike states, “We love to help others by giving to charities, especially this time of year and especially since so many charitable organizations have been hit hard due to the pandemic. But,” he goes on to add, “we have to be a little extra cautious these days since scam artists are more and more sophisticated and prevalent during the holiday season and leading up to tax time.”

As Boike points out, “The IRS and its Security Summit partners have issued warnings to be particularly attentive this year. In fact they advise that you do not click on any e-mail or text message solicitations even if they appear to be from your charity of choice. Instead,” he continues, “they suggest that you go to your charity of choice and do your giving through their specific website. Or, even better, go old school and mail them a check!”

According to Boike, “There’s no need for fear, just exercise a little caution. Awareness is key and is all that’s necessary to keep you off of the scammer’s holiday victim list and keep your spirits bright.” He also provides a link to the IRS’s entire list of seasonal scam alerts.
