Orlando DOT Physical Provider and Workflow Employer Services Owner Dr. Brad Levine Publishes New Article Recapping All Things About the DOT Physical Exam

Dr. Brad Levine, Orlando Chiropractor and owner at Workflow Employer Services releases new article outlining reviewing the reason for the DOT physical, specifics of the requirement, and special conditions.

Altamonte Springs, FL — November 23, 2016 — Workflow Employer Services owner and Orlando area chiropractor Dr. Brad Levine recently published a new article on his website “The DOT Physical: A Recap of All Things About the DOT Physical Exam and DOT Medical Certification.”

In the article, Dr. Levine gives a very good high-level overview of the origin of this physical exam and answering specific questions that are common among commercial drivers who must meet this requirement.

He starts off by answering the question, “What is the DOT physical?” Specifically, the DOT (Department of Transportation) requires that all commercial drivers have a DOT physical to receive DOT medical certification.

Dr. Levine then shares who can perform the exam such as doctors of medicine (MD), doctors of osteopathy (DO), physician assistants (PA), advanced practice nurses (APN), and doctors of chiropractic (DC).

From there, he goes on to explain how long the physical is good for, specific conditions and their impact on DOT medical certification, and even whether a urine drug test is required to pass the physical.

Next, he provides information on the difference between interstate and intrastate commerce. He also includes information on how and why FMCSA regulations apply only to that drivers who will drive – or intend to drive – between states.

To close out the article, Dr. Levine goes into exemptions and even a special certification for drivers with missing or impaired limbs but using prosthetics and who can operate a commercial vehicle safely.
