Jones writes, “As cautious as everyone tries to be during the winter months, inevitably slip and fall accidents do happen.  Icy conditions outside and snow that’s melted off of shoes and boots inside create dangerous, slippery conditions.”

Who will be held liable for injuries sustained in these types of accidents is the question. According to Jones, “Frequently it is difficult to determine who is at fault in slip and fall claims when weather creates hazardous conditions.” Apparently there are clearly defined rules, as Jones elaborates,  “Property owners must be diligent in maintaining safe conditions on the inside and outside of their establishments. According to Jones one does not need a crystal ball to see the future. As he writes, “When the weather prediction calls for icy rain, sleet and snow, I predict there will also be a flurry of unfortunate slip and fall accidents.”  He continues, “Slip and fall accidents happen so quickly and can result in serious injuries and fatalities.”
