Personal Injury Attorney, Eva Brindisi Pearlman, Calls for Action to Protect NYS Construction Workers.

Utica, NY, March 12, 2015: Personal Injury Attorney Eva Brindisi Pearlman, partner at the Law Offices of Brindisi, Murad, Brindisi & Pearlman has posted a new article on the law offices website entitled “Make Your Voice Heard at Worker and Patient Safety Lobby Day 2015, Tues., March 10 – Wed., March 11 at the Capitol in Albany, NY.”

Ms. Pearlman cries out to “Protect NYS construction workers!” She writes, “It is well known that construction work is one of the most dangerous jobs in the country.  Here in New York State, the Scaffold Safety Law is crucial in making sure that all New York workers are protected on the job.”

Pearlman urges action “Tell your state legislators to oppose Scaffold Law Reform and Bill Number A3209 (proposed legislation to limit the protection afforded to NYS workers injured in the use of scaffolding and other devices).” She further elaborates, “New York State’s Labor Law, Sections 240 and 241, also known as the Scaffold Safety Law, imposes liability for elevation-related injuries on contractors and property owners engaged in construction, repair, or demolition work.”

According to Pearlman, “Contractors claim they’re losing business in New York, but the reality is construction work is increasing. And, despite contractor’s claims of financial woes, they seem to find the money necessary to fund lobbyists to try to weaken worker safety laws in Albany.”

Pearlman makes it easy for readers to take action by including a form letter and a list of State Legislators. As Pearlman writes, “The Scaffold Safety Law helps injured workers at a time when they are most vulnerable following what is usually a very serious and devastating injury. These injured workers are confronted with life altering physical, emotional and financial changes and challenges after their accidents. These workers need the protection of New York State’s Scaffold Safety Law.”

“It is our responsibility” says Pearlman,“to protect New York State’s construction workers, who put their lives at risk every day and who are working towards improving New York and making it the great state it is. We owe it to them and their families to keep worksites safe and the Scaffold Safety Law strong.”
