Naples, FL, October 26, 2020: Owner and CEO of Smilecreator of Naples, Dr. Nilo Hernandez, Jr., DDS, has posted a new blog on his website entitled, “Stressful Holidays Can Lower The Body’s Resistance To Disease.” Dr. Hernandez reminds readers how stressful the upcoming holidays can be and talks about the importance of oral health particularly during stressful times… 

Dr. Hernandez writes, “We are heading into the stressful holiday season more stressed than ever before. The COVID-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented degree of uncertainty and fear throughout the world.” He continues adding, “As we approach the holiday season, one thing we know is that we are also entering the cold and flu season. The scientists are warning that we may see increased cases of COVID-19 due in large part to the cooler temperatures, and due to the fact that many people are going to let their desire to celebrate the Thanksgiving tradition with family override their health and safety concerns.”

As Dr. Hernandez points out, “It is going to be a stressful time, whether you decide to travel or stay put. And we know that stress diminishes the body’s ability to fight off viruses, colds and other illnesses.” “In addition,” says Dr. Hernandez, “many people have skipped dental and doctor’s appointments due to COVID-19. My suggestion is that before the holidays and before the bone-chilling weather sets in, that you schedule a dental appointment for several reasons.”

About Dr. Nilo Hernandez

Nilo A. Hernandez Jr., DDS, DICOI completed I dental degree at Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska in 1991. Prior to that, he also completed dental training overseas that placed much emphasis on surgery and trauma procedures. With so much training in the surgical arts, it’s no wonder that he has excelled on this chosen path with the greatest of passion and vigor.
