Milwaukee Area Dentist Tony Cigno Publishes a New Article Explaining How Your Dental Health Reveals Many Things About Your General Health Too
Milwaukee area dentist Dr. Tony discusses clues to health that can be seen in the mouth.
Greenfield, WI — May 22, 2018 — Wisconsin Dentist Tony Cigno recently published an article titled, “Dental Health Shares Clues Beyond More Than the State of Your Oral Hygiene.”
Aside from making sure your teeth are as white as possible and your breath is fresh, you might not put a whole lot of thought into your dental health. However, even if both of those things are squared away, there still may be problems lurking below the surface. In fact, as Dr. Cigno shares, “Research has shown that there is a correlation between oral problems and serious health conditions in the rest of your body.”
Through the rest of the article, Dr. Cigno shares some of the warning signs in mouth that shouldn’t be ignored.
One of these that he discusses is sharp tooth pain. He explains, “If you have sharp pain in your teeth when you bite down or chew, you should see your dentist immediately. This pain could mean there is tooth decay or a cavity.” Additionally, he adds, “An ache in your top teeth may be an indicator of a sinus infection.”
Other warning signs he discussing are bleeding gums, often a sign of gum disease, and white bumps on the tongue, sometimes indicating an overgrowth of bacteria or yeast. Dr. Cigno also tells us that dry mouth can even be a sign of more serious problems. And the same with bad breath. Sometimes bad breath isn’t just a nuisance. It can also be an indicator of respiratory disease, post-nasal drip, uncontrolled diabetes and even kidney failure.
