First Presbyterian Church of Orlando is excited to host Joy Prom Florida “Night With The Stars” this Saturday, May 21st.

Orlando, Fla. – May 18, 2011 – This Saturday night, May 21^st, will be an exceptionally special night to celebrate life with many of our friends who have disabilities.  The first of its kind in Florida, First Presbyterian Church of Orlando will be hosting Joy Prom with a theme titled  “Night With The Stars.” Joy Prom is a special event designed for people ages 16 and older with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

Guests of Joy Prom will receive star-quality treatment, including an opportunity to walk the red carpet, sign autographs for adoring fans, have their picture taken, receive a boutonniere or corsage and dance the night away with friends.

“We welcome this opportunity to see the Kingdom of God break out at the Joy Prom as all God’s children, irrespective of ability, come together for fellowship and fun. May we give God the glory as we affirm His beautiful image in His children,” remarked Dr Case Thorp, Associate Pastor for Mission & Evangelism, First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.

The event coordinators say, “Joy Prom is a celebration of life.  It’s an evening of dinner and dancing for our extraordinary guests to be honored in first-class style, to feel special and to have fun! Joy Prom is a way that we can show our friends that we love them and that they are loved by God and are special to Him.”

The first-annual Joy Prom will be held on Saturday, May 21^st at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando from 6:30-9:30pm, located at 106 East Church Street, Orlando, Florida, 32801.
