Health And Fitness Expert Dr. Veronica Anderson Scrutinizes Pennsylvania Hospital Cafeteria

Dr. Veronica Anderson, Founder and Host of web radio talk show, Wellness for the Real World, recently shared her thoughts in a video about a disturbing discovery at the Pennsylvania Hospital cafeteria.

NEW YORK, NY – April 26, 2011 – Dr. Veronica Anderson, Founder and Host of health and wellness web radio talk show, Wellness for the Real World, was recently compelled to post a video delivering her thoughts on a disturbing discovery that she made at a recent visit to Pennsylvania Hospital.  Pennsylvania Hospital is the oldest hospital in America, founded in 1751.  Even though Pennsylvania Hospital is affiliated with the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, and their medical reputation is stellar, what Dr. Veronica discovered in the cafeteria shocked her.

Upon visiting the cafeteria at Pennsylvania Hospital, Dr. Veronica was compelled to post a video about her thoughts on the food that was being offered to the patients, guests, hospital staff and physicians.  Dr. Veronica found it extremely hard to find nutritional options – instead finding over-sized sweets, bacon and eggs and scrapple, among other unhealthy food choices.

“Healing and health starts with the food,” remarked Dr. Veronica Anderson. “The top 50 chronic diseases in America are caused by excess weight and obesity – we all know this.  67% of Americans are overweight – we know this.  There is a childhood epidemic of obesity – we all know this.  So, can you tell me the excuse for being in a hospital cafeteria where there is nothing but crap? Where there are hardly any nutritious options available?”

Dr. Veronica also discussed her conversation with the director of food and nutrition, her thoughts on food standards in hospitals, and how she plans to follow up.

“When I’ve said that food today is a human rights issue – this is what I’m talking about,” remarked Dr. Anderson.
