Gerald Higginbotham: Healing a Struggling America, One Person at a Time
Florissant, MO – June 11, 2012 – With a country in dark economic times, it’s time for Gerald Higginbotham to make his mark. The press is teeming with negativity, forcing people to turn on one another. On a quiet mission for the past four decades, Gerald knows he can’t just talk about change, but must take action!
Gerald was witness to the Watts Riots in Los Angeles at the tender age of seven. This five-day riot was the result of a growing powder keg between different cultures and economic classes.
With the National Guard in his neighborhood, attempting to subdue the situation, Gerald told himself, then and there, that something was just not right!
Believing that positive change has to happen at a grassroots level, Gerald founded LLIFE in 2001. Living Learning in Faith Everyday has the powerful mission of empowering African American communities to close the widening income gap between the rich and poor.
LLIFE couldn’t come at a better time. Gerald relishes in the Information Age, which means knowledge is accessible, because of the Internet. The program is also about following a metaphorical flight plan, so people can arrive at their destination.
If anyone would know about flight plans, it’s Dr. Higginbotham. For the past 24 years, Gerald has been living his lifelong dream as a pilot for TWA and American Airlines.
Additional ways to heal America’s societies are covered in one of his popular books, “Collaboration, Teamwork, and Networking: A Case for Working Together to Systematically Achieve Successful Living.” Excerpts from this exciting literary work can be found at http://www.llife.org/.
Looking to spread his message as far as possible, Gerald also has websites at geraldhigginbotham.com, with life lessons from 35,000 feet, and www.u4abc.com, home to his nonprofit organization Unity for a Better Community.
Gerald recently released another book, “This is Your Captain Speaking: Life Lessons Learned at 35,000 Feet,” with experiences from traveling the world.
With multiple websites, books, and programs, Dr. Higginbotham is not going away!
“If it is to be, it’s up to me,” is a philosophy Gerald lives by. “You have to become the change you want.”
