Former Inner City Teacher And Vietnam Vet George Sink One Of South Carolina’s Top Injury Lawyers

Former inner city teacher and Vietnam vet George Sink has found his niche in the South as one of South Carolina’s top injury lawyers for over 30 years

Charleston, SC – August 18, 2011 – Two powerful, life-changing experiences in George Sink’s first years out of college reinforced the dogged determination and fighting spirit that he would someday draw upon to help thousands of plaintiffs as one of South Carolina’s top injury lawyers.

Right out of Western Michigan University, the Detroit born and raised Sink taught English, geography and history to inner city 7th and 8th graders in his hometown, a challenging experience he likens to the classic film “The Blackboard Jungle.” His teaching job could have exempted him from the Viet Nam draft, but instead he volunteered for service in the Marine Corps and served two tours in Viet Nam—leaving as a Captain after three years of active duty.

His father, who worked in a Chrysler Corporation factory, thought Sink’s dream of becoming a lawyer was too risky, but Sink was determined to go to law school. Funded by the GI Bill, he went back to Western Michigan to get an MBA and then was accepted into Emory Law School in Atlanta.

Settling in Charleston, Sink began working for a general practitioner, doing everything from wills to corporate law, criminal law and personal injury. When he launched his own firm, he chose to focus on personal injury because “I realized that I’m a people person and have a passion to help people, especially those who are hurting literally and figuratively.”

With five staffed offices throughout South Carolina, George Sink, P.A. Injury Lawyers handles all forms of personal injury cases, including auto accidents, workers’ compensation, social security disability, drug and medical injuries, wrongful death, nursing home abuse, truck accidents and premises liability. His staff helps clients do everything from handling calls and negotiations with insurance companies, to finding qualified health care providers to treat their injuries and getting their pay started for workers’ compensation injuries.

Over the past few decades, Sink and his firm, George Sink, P.A. Injury Lawyers, has helped over 35,000 injured people. Sink currently has staffed offices in North Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, Walterboro and Moncks Corner, with staffing plans this summer for his Sumter and Orangeburg offices. The unstaffed offices in Beaufort and Florence are always available, but by appointment only.
