Fitness, Health and Wellness Expert Dr. Veronica Anderson Publishes New Article “Sexy Has No Age Limit”

Dr. Veronica Anderson, Social Media Medicine expert plus Founder and Host of web radio talk show, Wellness for the Real World, a weekly resource for wellness of mind, body and spirit, discusses the concept of cosmetic wellness in people in their Golden Years.

NEW YORK, NY – August 18, 2011Dr. Veronica Anderson, Social Media Medicine Expert plus Founder and Host of health and wellness web radio talk show, Wellness for the Real World, recently published an article on her website www.DrVeronica.com, that discusses people in their Golden Years engaging in plastic surgery and other cosmetic alternatives to live their lives to the fullest. The notion that there is an increasing trend of women in their senior years having cosmetic surgery to enhance life both socially and sexually is not a new one however, Dr. Veronica brings forth the idea that men should engage in the same quest for self-improvement. In a recent article published in the New York Times, several women over 65 are featured; each having had surgical procedures that otherwise might have the social stigma of being appropriate for younger women.  But Dr. Veronica asks, “What about men?”

Dr. Anderson writes, “For decades, even more, we as a society have been conditioned to expect that the man is rough and tough and there is no need for him to look great.  By the same token, women have been facing and living up to crazy social mores that dictate years of “keeping up appearances”.  What about feeling good, about yourself and for yourself within?  In my book, that is what matters most.  There is no secret that people who are healthy from within are better partners, better parents, more fun to be with and definitely better to look at.  If the men in this world – especially those who have crossed that invisible line that makes them “elderly” – all did something about their appearance, just think how happy all us women would be.”

“So in this day and age of Viagra when men are encouraged to extend their sexual lives to beyond what conventional wisdom of yesteryear may have deemed “appropriate”, I see no qualms in men focusing on their physical, mental and sexual health.  I, for one, will not even look twice in the direction of a tired, old-looking man who has love handles that are older than Smithsonian displays.  Not a chance.  I do love to read about those spectacular people who are running marathons at age 85 or adopting organic living despite age-old stigmas that could easily have locked them into another era.  These are the same people who engage others in stimulating conversation rather than complain about aches and pains.  They look fantastic; they know it and they exude an aura of intense positive energy all around them,” says Dr. Anderson.
