Kevin Hodes, CEO of Credit Card Processing Company Swypit Talks About “Eat the Frog” and How this Helps Productivity

Frisco, TX – April 21, 2020 – Kevin Hodes, CEO of Swypit has published a new article entitled “Eat the Frog? What Does That Mean? How Does It Relate to Productivity?” In the piece, Hodes explains the “Eat the Frog” expression and how it applies to beating procrastination and accomplishing your goals.

“Eat the Frog” was an expression or idea that originally came from Mark Twain. Generally speaking, Twain used the expression to explain that when you had a big, daunting, task, it was best to do it first thing in the morning. If you had multiple big, daunting, tasks—do the biggest and hardest first to get it out of the way.

Hodes explains in his piece, that this idea can be applied to productivity as well.

First, he outlines how much time and momentum we often lose just figuring out where and how to get started on big projects. And then, Hodes adds that ‘starting line stutter’ as he calls it, often causes us to set lower goals and achieve less.

He says, “When we become accustomed to this ‘off-the-line’ hesitancy and rambling, we naturally start to set lower goals. Therefore, we lose much of the power of goal setting.”

However, Hodes elaborates, all hope is not lost. Using the “Eat the Frog” strategy allows us to get going and get more done.
