Co-Founder of Red Feather Financial, Dr. Sabrina Scott Reminds Veterans They May Be Entitled To Benefits That Can Help With Long-Term Care Expenses
Dr. Sabrina Scott thanks veterans for their service and recognizes that they may need financial education and planning that helps them make the most of their benefits. She reminds readers that not every financial planner understands the nuances of veterans benefits and that lack of knowledge can end up penalizing instead of helping the veteran.
DECATUR, GA, November 15, 2019: Dr. Sabrina Scott, co-founder of Red Feather Financial, has posted a new blog on the firm’s website entitled “Veteran’s Benefits Reminder.” Dr. Scott uses the Veteran’s Day holiday to remind Veteran readers that they may have access to benefits that could be life-saving.
Dr. Scott states, “Veteran’s Day is, for most people, a day to shop for bargains.” “But,” she continues, “for those who are currently serving and those who have served our country and the families of those who served, Veteran’s Day is truly a day to remember what that service has meant and continues to mean for every American citizen.”
“In my work,” says Dr. Scott, “Veteran’s Day also serves as a reminder that a Veteran’s non-service-connected disability pension with aid and attendance benefits can potentially be a life-saving resource for wartime veterans and their surviving spouses that have long-term care expenses.” She continues adding, “Too often these benefits go unmentioned mostly because many financial advisors are unaware of them or they do not know how to account for them in their financial planning.” “The fact is,” Dr. Scott explains is, “that certain investments could penalize you from qualifying for VA pension. Changes made in VA law just last year have implemented a three-year lookback period for asset transfers that clients may not be aware of.”

About Dr. Sabrina Scott
Sabrina Scott learned about Veterans Benefits and Medicaid when her parents sought legal services for long-term care. Confident she could find ways to preserve her family’s resources and still get access to Government Assistance, Sabrina felt there should be more options than relying on welfare. As a result, Dr. Scott became an investment advisor representative who can make recommendations regarding securities and became licensed in insurance as well. She co-founded Red Feather Financial with Victoria Collier to help those who want to have a plan in place in order not to outlive their resources and who do not want to be a burden to their children.
