Business Leader and Financial Services Expert, Perminder Chohan Talks About Registered Education Savings Plans.

RICHMOND, VANCOUVER BC– May 28, 2015 – Award-winning and inspiring business leader and financial services expert, PerminderChohan has posted a new blog on the Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network website entitled, “It’s Never Too Early to Save For Your Child’s Post-Secondary Education.” New parents and grandparents alike will benefit from reading Mr. Chohan’s latest blog.

Chohan writes, “The birth of your child or grandchild is the best time to begin a registered education savings plan (RESP). Whether the child ultimately decides to pursue higher education or not, at least the funds will be available.”

Pointing out the advantages of an RESP versus alternative methods, Chohan says, “A registered education savings plan is a wiser option than just putting money aside for education. Why? Because the government contributes to the savings plan.” He adds, “In fact, federal grants can total as much as $7200 for the entire length of the plan, depending on the amount invested. The amount is even higher in Quebec, with an additional $3600 being contributed.”

Another benefit of the RESP according to Chohan, “Beside the government contribution, the funds in a registered education savings plan are tax sheltered, just like an RRSP.”

Chohan states, “Getting a post-secondary education can be an enriching experience. And it can be even more enriching when the funds are readily available in a registered education savings plan.”
