Balanced Living & Productivity Expert Susan Sly Publishes New Article with Productivity Tips for Holidays and Vacations

Best-selling author, time management expert, work life balance specialist and professional speaker Susan Sly shares how to stay productive while you are vacationing or on holiday.

Scottsdale, AZ — February 23, 2017 — Best-selling author, work life balance speaker and expert, and entrepreneur Susan Sly recently published a new article titled, “Productivity Tips: Stay Productive While on Holidays or Vacation.”

When an entrepreneur or executive goes on holiday or vacation, Susan says there are only two real choices regarding staying productive. Specifically she states, “Go off the grid completely and try not to worry about your business the whole time. Or alternatively, warn everyone in advance that you’re going to have to stay connected to work most of the time, likely making your fellow travelers miserable.”

The productivity tips she provides in this piece, she contends, combined with some pre-planning, will allow you to stay productivity on holiday or vacation while also relaxing and having fun.

The remainder of the article outlines four specific ideas for maintaining your productivity no matter whether you are going to “go dark” or still try to get some work done.

The first tip might be the most valuable. In this productivity tip, she outlines the need to set limits in advance. Of course, this begins with deciding what your plan will be—to do no work whatsoever or to try and make your trip a working vacation. Of course, she adds, if you can afford to take the time off completely, this is best for your work-life balance. Yet, if that’s not possible, then make sure everyone knows your plan to work some, up front, so there are no misunderstandings and surprises while you are away.

Another productivity tip includes making sure professional contacts – clients, colleagues, employees, etc. – knows your plan. Further, tie up any loose ends before you go and get as “caught up” as possible.

Susan closes out the article by giving some great ideas of how to take advantage of down time on your trip – or times “when no one is watching” – to catch up for a few minutes. She adds that by doing this, “You’ll feel much less stressed during the relaxing times and have less to deal with when you return.”
