Co-Founder of Red Feather Financial, Dr. Sabrina Scott Shares How The Loss Of Her Father To Alzheimer’s Disease Five Years Ago Hits Her Hardest On Father’s Day
Dr. Sabrina Scott talks about her father and the nearly mythical role he played in her life until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and relates how she misses him most on Father’s Day when fathers around the country are being celebrated.
DECATUR, GA, June 13, 2019: Dr. Sabrina Scott, co-founder of Red Feather Financial, has posted a new blog on the firm’s website entitled “Father’s Day Without Your Father.” Dr. Scott reminisces about the loss of her Father and how the father of her children has taken over the significant role.
Dr. Scott writes, “Father’s Day is the day I miss my dad the most.” She elaborates, “I lost my father in 2014 so this year was the fifth Father’s Day without him.” “For some reason,” says Dr. Scott, “the anniversary of his death sometime in September doesn’t particularly stir anything up for me. I don’t usually remember that day or otherwise commemorate it. And his birthday on October 1st is also not a day that I think much of him maybe because we missed many of his birthdays in my youth. Due to his career and his tendency to workaholism, it seemed like my mother, sister, and I hardly saw our father the entire 1980s.”
Dr. Scott writes more about what her father did before adding, “There is still a very important father in my life now who is my husband and the father of my son.” Regarding Father’s Day she adds, “and of course we celebrate him that day.”
Dr. Scott goes on to say, “In honor of my dad and all of the loved ones in our world who are diagnosed with and live with Alzheimer’s Disease, I support the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association Longest Day activities.” She explains, “The Longest Day is the Summer Solstice, the day with the most light. On this day, which is June 21st, thousands of participants from across the world to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through a variety of activities.”

About Dr. Sabrina Scott
Sabrina Scott learned about Veterans Benefits and Medicaid when her parents sought legal services for long-term care. As a result, Dr. Scott became an investment advisor representative who can make recommendations regarding securities and became licensed in insurance as well. She co-founded Red Feather Financial with Victoria Collier to help those who want to have a plan in place in order not to outlive their resources and who do not want to be a burden to their children.
