The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm Founder, Victoria L Collier, Talks About The Time That Comes For Adult Children When They Must Parent Their Parents
Estate & Asset Protection Attorney, Victoria Collier turns her attention to the inevitable aging of parents and how adult children whether they have been parents or not will need to step into the role of caretaker and pretty much guarantees that patience will be tested in new ways.
DECATUR, GA, December 6, 2018: Victoria L. Collier, founder of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, has posted a new blog on her law firm’s website entitled “Patience Required For The Love Of Aging Parents.” Ms. Collier touches on a topic that is coming to the foreground for many adult children.
Collier begins with a question, writing, “When you were a child, did your parents teach you – or at least attempt to teach you – that ‘patience is a virtue’?” She adds, “This is a hard lesson to learn, oftentimes taking an entire lifetime.”
“When children are born,” says Collier, “every parent determines to be the best parent possible.” Speaking from personal experience, she adds, “Before long though, they are being tested beyond the limits of their wildest imagination.”
“Sound familiar?” Collier asks, adding, “If you are a parent, you know what I’m talking about. Even if you have not parented a child, simply being human will test your patience.”
According to Collier, “As our parents age, we may find ourselves being faced with challenging situations we simply could not have anticipated.” She continues, “Life keeps us so busy we hardly notice that our parents have aged until they start showing symptoms or they get sick and don’t bounce back the way they used to.”
