Balanced Living & Productivity Expert Susan Sly Releases New Article Outlining How to Organize Your Inbox
Best-selling author, time management expert, work life balance specialist and professional speaker Susan Sly shares how to get your inbox in order once and for all.
Scottsdale, AZ — November 29, 2016 — Best-selling author, work life balance speaker and expert, and entrepreneur Susan Sly recently published a new article, “Organize It! Organize Your Life When You Organize Your Inbox – 5 Tips to Taming the Email Giant.”
As Susan says, “Email has become an integral part of our professional and personal lives. On the other hand, if we don’t manage it properly, it can wreck havoc on our productivity on the best of days. Take a day – or especially, a week – off and it can seem as if you’ll never get out from underneath its weight.”
She then goes on to explain how one fourth of every worker’s day is taken up by email, according to a study by the McKinsey Global Institute.
From there, Susan shares how organizing your email is vital to organizing your business in general. Next, Susa gives five steps to getting a handle on email “madness”. These include things like checking your email in intervals throughout the day, instead of all through the day and dealing it with it when you touch it.
Sly states, “If you don’t choose what to do with a message immediately when you first see it, it takes up double (or more) of your time and hangs over your head until you’ve taken care of it. Both scenarios hinder your productivity.”
She also goes so far as to say if you can’t get a handle on organizing your inbox, a “purge” may be in order. This essentially means scrapping it all and starting over.
